A. Louis Patterson, III was born in San Bernardino, California
to A. Louis Patterson, Jr., and Melba Lorraine. He has three siblings,
Anthony, Alan and Alette. A. Louis Patterson, III grew up
in Houston, Texas and graduated from North Shore High School. He
attended both the Houston Baptist University and Texas Southern
University. He attained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business
Administration, from the historic Morehouse College in Atlanta,
Georgia, where he served as a chapel assistant in the Martin Luther
King, Jr., International Ecumenical Chapel. He accepted the
call into the ministry in 1992 under the spiritual leadership of
Pastor A. Louis Patterson, Jr., and the Mount Corinth Missionary
Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. His understanding of the
Biblical principle that a call to preach is a call for preparation
has led him to Dallas, Texas, where he is currently pursuing a
Master’s of Theology (Th.M.) degree from the prestigious
Dallas Theological Seminary. Pastor Patterson has also continued
to further his Biblical education by participating in the study
of Homiletics and Theology at the world renowned Regent’s
College at Oxford University in Oxford, England.
Pastor Patterson has been blessed to preach on numerous occasions,
even at a young age, in the Music Division, The Minister's Division
and the Late Night Services, of the National Baptist Convention,
U.S.A., Inc., the Rev. Dr. William J. Shaw, President. He has also
been a speaker for the L. K. Williams Minister’s Institute and
the E. K. Bailey Expository Preaching Conference,
both in Dallas, Texas. He has served in positions at: the Mount
Corinth Missionary Baptist Church in Houston, Texas, as the Pastoral
intern, where Rev. A. Louis Patterson, Jr. is the Pastor; The
Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas, Texas, as the Pastor of Christian
Education intern, where Dr. Anthony Evans, Senior Pastor; the Friendship-West
Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas, as Pastor of Singles, where Dr.
Frederick D. Haynes, III, is the Senior Pastor.
Currently he serves as a Board member of Carver Bible College
in Atlanta, Georgia and Board Treasurer of On Point Ministries
in Dallas, Texas and is a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity
Inc. Pastor Patterson also holds the honor of being published in
the preaching journal The African American Pulpit.
He is the former Pastor of the historic Sims Chapel Baptist Churchin
Garland, Texas, the first African-American Baptist Church in Garland.
He is Pastor and Founder of THE LOVE Church in Plano, Texas, where
they are Loving The World With The Word.
